Location: Corner of Grand and Tainter Streets, Worcester, MA

A hole in the floor of a factory that at one time was the Crompton and Knowles Loom Works. Long abandoned, the building was gutted only a few months after I took this photo, and redeveloped into the University Park Lofts. The number of abandoned factories left in Worcester is shrinking as projects such as this repurpose these great old buildings. Inside, the condos are pretty nice. The structure is nearly bombproof: you'll never, ever see such a massive amount of concrete used in a new residential build today.
